Squeaky taken 9/24/2007

These photos were taken 2 weeks after she was spayed the reason she is thin around the middle with hair.
Squeaky has been the love of my life. She keeps me entertained and is my constant lap companion. Since I had the joy of handraising her, I think she thinks of me as her mom and is constantly with me when I'm at home. She is my little Shadow. She is very healthy and since reaching 4 months of age has never had any more episodes of hypoglycemia.
TIPPY THE PIP SQUEAKY
OR AS WE CALL HER SQUEAKY
We would like to thank you all for coming to see our little girl tippy.
Tippy the Pip Squeak is a premmy that was born to Shasta. She was born with major open soft spots on her head.
The reason we call her tippy is because both back feet are tipped in white and also each time she tries to eat out of shallow dishes her rear tips over her head and dumps her face in her food. So we have to put a finger on her rear to hold her down or put her in the dish with her food.
The vet has been really surprised that she has progressed as well as she has since normally a pup with this type soft spot doesn't. Hers goes across entire middle of skull and around both sides in the back.
She is progressing slowly and will not be available for sale.
She is tiny little delicate ball of energy. We will try to keep you all informed as to her progress and we thank you all for taking the time to read about her. When the photos below were taken she was 7-1/2 weeks old and weighed less than 8 oz. .
These photos taken 11/28
Update: 12/12 Tippy is eating rice cooked with beef and munching on some dry food occasionally. Our goal this week is to get her to eating puppy food either wet or dry. Right now she turns away from it.
Update: 12/13 Tippy is finally eating some wet dog food, we are having some good luck with pedigree little champions beef and cheese. This is really a day for celebration, since this is a milestone in her developement to us. Her new photo taken today is posted below.
Update 12/17 Tippy had a small set back this morning with a sugar drop and now will not eat any puppy food so back to syringe feeding her. She bounced back fast from the sugar drop but isn't interested in food, she seems to have a slight temp so might have a cold since the temp fluctuates so much and we found her heating pad off this morning.
Update 12/20 Tippy is progressing although she is being stubborn about eating any puppy food now. She is drinking her milk again out of her puppy bowl instead of us having to syringe feed her but she is turning her nose up at puppyfood but loves honey baked ham. We know, we can hear you now, she's not supposed to eat that but at least she is eating it and gaining strength daily. She is playing more and sleeping less now and wants to be with us more. She is back up to 5 hours between feedings.
This is one of my granddaughters holding Squeaky on Christmas Eve.
Update: 12/26 Squeaky as we now call her instead of Tippy is doing great. She eats meat, either chicken liver or ham every 8 hours and milk every 8 hours. She hasn't had a sugar drop in about a week now and we are gradually expanding the time between feedings to make sure she can maintain her sugar level. She is starting to grow a little more now also, very energetic and alert. She comes running if she sees a bottle of milk in your hand or a plate (since she thinks its her food). She knows her name and loves to be in our laps chewing on our buttons. She still won't eat dog food (dry or canned) but she is nibbling a little on dry, so today we will get several small bags of dry to try her on to see which she likes best.
Update: 12/30 Good news, Squeaky was at the vet this morning for her 2nd shot which vet gave her only 3/4 of a shot, but anyhow, vet said other than for her head being delicate from her soft spots and her being so small that she is perfectly healthy little girl. She has gained up to a whopping 1lb 3oz. She is now 12 weeks old and measures 4 inches at her shoulder and body is 5-1/2 inches from chest to base of tail. She really thinks she's as big as everyone else at times. Although, if many dogs are around her she skoots into a corner until they move. She is on 7 hour feedings now with just a little milk first and last feeding of the day but still not eating dog food either canned or dry or wet. We are still working with her to get her on some type puppyfood and off chicken liver and ham.
Update: 1/5/2007 Squeaky is on 3 feedings a day and working her way to 2 a day. She is nibbling a little of the adults dry dog food but will not touch puppy dry food. She is starting into her uglies, and is beginning to look like a moth eaten squeaky toy. She is such a sweet girl that you feel you could just squeeze her to death. She is paper trained and makes a beeline for the paper as soon as we uncrate her in the mornings. She will not use her crate at all which is great in my book.
Update: 1/9/2007 Squeaky is now eating dry puppy food. She is a bundle of energy. She is very smart and can stand up for herself when bigger pups try to bully her. We finally got her to eat Hills Science Diet puppy food, so that is what we will leave her on. We have her off any type of people food now since she is eating the dry food so well. Her only problem is she doesnt like to be brushed or combed. She will try to eat us up when she sees a brush in our hand, but we are working on that. Her most favorite spot in the whole house is on my husbands shoulder. Maybe she thinks she's kin to Tango our bird. She's still tiny at 1-1/2lbs and the 6 week old pups are as big as her or bigger.

Update: 1/16/2007 As you can see she is thinning down into her uglies. She is a little spit fire. She's eating dry food now either her science diet or the adults food. She likes to chew on rawhide chews (the flat kind) and tries to chew dog biscuits but normally drops them to find something else.
Update: 2/28/07 Tippy is now 2lbs and coming out of her uglies. She is very energetic and loving. She seems to have no limitations as to what she can do or get in to. She will be 6 months old next week and we will throw a party for her. Photos will be posted at that time.
Update 8/28/2007 Squeaky is now 3.5 lbs and we had her spayed today. She came through the surgery just fine and is doing great. We did this since she was too small to breed and to make sure no accidents could happen that would endanger her life.
